Danosa Caribbean, Inc. in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, is seeking an Accounting Associate. This full-time, on-site role supports the monthly close, reconciles ledgers, and assists with financial statements under the Controller.
You will process supplier payments, support inventory control, follow up on customer collections, and help with audits, records, and general admin. Bilingual in Spanish and English, with an associate degree in accounting, is required.
Danosa Caribbean, Inc. manufactures SBS modified bitumen waterproofing membranes at its plant in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Our membranes are specified for roofs, walls and below grade structures on residential, commercial and institutional projects, and we supply them to contractors, subcontractors and distributors across the island and the wider Caribbean. Our products carry the certifications the local market demands, and the accounting team supports a business that spans manufacturing, warehousing, maritime shipping and direct sales.
Role Description
The Accounting Associate is a full time, on site, entry-to-junior level role based in Bayamón, reporting directly to the Controller. This role supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, assisting with the monthly close process and reconciling accounts receivable and payable subsidiary ledgers to established deadlines. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of monthly financial statements for review with the Controller, performing bank and supplier reconciliations, supporting monthly inventory control and its recording in the books, processing supplier payments within credit terms, following up on customer collections, reconciling daily store cash with the cashier, and preparing monthly commission settlements and customer bonus calculations. The role also supports the year end external audit, files monthly maritime reports for our insurance carrier, and helps maintain the accounting system database including government agency documentation. Because the team is lean, the position additionally provides general administrative support and coordinates IT and connectivity service issues with our providers.
