Qualifikationen

Job Title: Accounting Specialist

Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana (Fully On-site)

Salary Range: 60k-75k (Pending Experience)

Role Overview

The Personnel Consulting Group is seeking an organized and dependable Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will take ownership of day-to-day transactional workflows including corporate credit card reconciliations, vendor disbursements, customer billing, and credit evaluations. You will be responsible for ensuring all financial activity is accurately verified, properly coded, and posted on schedule within our Vista accounting system.

Key Responsibilities

• Credit Card Management: Review monthly corporate cardholder transactions for policy compliance, follow up to resolve missing receipts, process charges in the Vista credit card module, and reconcile statements to the general ledger.
• Accounts Payable: Enter and review vendor invoices, resolve statement or billing discrepancies, and maintain compliance records, including W-9s and Certificates of Insurance (COIs).
• Accounts Receivable & Credit: Vet new customer credit applications and references, set up customer files, apply incoming payments and deposits, and monitor weekly AR aging to follow up on past-due accounts.
• General Ledger & Reconciliations: Prepare and post standard journal entries, accruals, and account reclassifications. Complete monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Close & Audit Support: Assist the Accounting Manager or Controller with month-end and year-end close schedules, external audit requests, and special reporting projects.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of practical accounting experience, with hands‑on exposure to AP, AR, and account reconciliations.
• Solid grasp of fundamental accounting principles, internal controls, and financial recordkeeping.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities (formulas, data sorting, filtering, and reconciliation worksheets).
• Professional communication skills and discretion when handling sensitive financial data.
