POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision and following established procedures, the Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting and supporting the Controller in senior level accounting practices in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
All job responsibilities are to be performed in strict adherence with the Company’s Mission/Values Statement and in accordance with established standards for external customers as well as internal customers.
Four-year degree in accounting or equivalent experience required, CPA, CMA and/or MBA preferred. Minimum three years of related experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. Must have a thorough understanding of and practical experience in sales tax, transactional accounting, cost accounting, inventories and computerized accounting systems. Must be able to: efficiently and effectively utilize computerized accounting systems and spreadsheet programs; accurately and timely prepare financial statements; organize; exercise good business judgment in making daily operating decisions with the long term best interests of the business in mind; deal effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people and situations; maintain the integrity of highly confidential business information; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; meet deadlines that change frequently; deal effectively with time pressures, stress and change.
