MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company USA, Inc. is seeking a on-site Finance/Accounting Professional in Charleston, SC. The role focuses on daily accounting tasks, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records. Collaboration with finance teams is essential.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and at least 1 year of experience, with strong Excel skills and analytical abilities. On-site schedule is five days a week with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year progressive experience in Finance or Accounting.
• Solid knowledge of accounting/finance principles.

Responsabilités

• Maintain financial records by performing daily accounting tasks.
• Record journal entries and perform account clearing and invoice creation.
• Reconcile General Ledger accounts, including balance sheet and bank accounts.
• Analyze financial data and prepare clear reports to support projects.
• Develop reconciliation campaigns through data analysis and problem solving.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data for reporting.
• Document accounting practices to improve processes.
• Collaborate with other finance departments to support joint goals.
• Presence required on-site five days per week.

Job Summary / Key Responsibilities

Assists in proactively maintaining the financial record by carrying out daily accounting tasks.

• Perform daily accounting tasks such as journal entries, account clearing, & invoice creation to ensure timely reconciliation.
• Reconcile General Ledger accounts, including balance sheet accounts, bank accounts, & intercompany accounts.
• Accurately analyzes financial data & compiles into clear reports to support projects.
• Proactively develops reconciliation campaigns through data analysis & problem solving.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial data used for reporting and analysis.
• Ensure process posterity & efficiency through the documentation of accounting practices.
• Collaborate with other finance departments to answer questions & assist with joint goals.
• Presence required on-site 5 days per week
• Performs other duties as assigned.

This role requires working on-site in the office for five days a week, from Monday to Friday. There is no option for fully remote or hybrid work in this role, unless required off-site duties are being performed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

• Bachelor’s degree (in Accounting/ Finance is a plus)
• Minimum 1 year progressive working experience in Finance or Accounting
• Solid knowledge of accounting/finance principles

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

• Data analytics experience/knowledge
• Working knowledge of Power BI

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
• Must be able to commute to the designated office location
• Presence required on-site 5 days per week
