Sinclair Community College is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach accounting courses face-to-face at the Courseview Campus in Mason, Ohio. Morning and afternoon options on Mondays and Wednesdays are available. Starting pay is $1,016 per credit hour assigned to teach.

This position is restricted to residents of Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky or those able to work in these states. Open to applicants with a master’s in accounting or related credentials.

Principal Accountabilities

• Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by thedepartment
• Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize studentlearning
• Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections inaccordance with department and divisional policies
• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, useavailable instructional technology when appropriate
• Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategiesto meet diverse students’ needs
• Support classroom and online efforts to promote studentsuccess
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promotelearning
• Maintain accurate records of student progress
• Submit final grade rosters according to establisheddeadlines
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than themaximum of 12 credit hours per semester

Requirements

• Minimum of a master’s degree in accounting, an MBA or amaster’s degree with at least 18 semester credit hours of graduatecoursework in accounting is required
• Certified Public Accountant ( CPA ) preferred
• Evidence of successful prior teaching experience ispreferred
• Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning throughinnovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the courseand program level
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with theability to work successfully in a community collegeenvironment
• Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educationaltechnology, including multimedia-based instruction
