We are seeking an Accounting Operations Supervisor to lead a team of approximately 10–12 accounting operations professionals. This role will be responsible for workflow management, prioritization, team performance, coaching, issue resolution, and supporting high-volume accounting activities.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, prior supervisory or people-leadership experience, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and experience supporting month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of approximately 10–12 colleagues, providing day-to-day guidance, coaching, and mentorship.
- Manage workflow, assign priorities, and monitor team performance to ensure operational goals are achieved.
- Set team goals and provide regular feedback, coaching, and support.
- Review work and ensure tasks are completed accurately, timely, and according to established procedures.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and escalation point for operational questions and complex issues.
- Partner with multiple internal stakeholder groups to resolve issues and maintain smooth accounting operations.
- Support high-volume activities during month-end close.
- Manage competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Identify process issues and recommend or implement improvements to increase efficiency.
- Communicate accounting policies, procedures, and processes clearly to team members and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with teams across different countries and functions; global team experience is preferred.
- Work closely with dedicated Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams that provide additional operational support.
- Monitor operational results and take appropriate action to improve team and department performance.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
- Prior people leadership, supervisory, or team-lead experience.
- Experience leading or supporting an accounting operations, finance operations, or transaction-processing team.
- Strong workflow management and prioritization skills.
- Experience assigning, reviewing, and monitoring work.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Experience working in a high-volume accounting environment.
- Accounting operations experience with exposure to month-end close activities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with Workday.
- Experience with Oracle.
- Experience driving process improvement initiatives.
- Experience working within a controlled financial operations environment.
- Experience supporting teams or stakeholders in other countries
