Primary Responsibilities

The Accounting Operations Manager performs activities of the accounting organization, oversees and ensures the accuracy of financial statements, monthly close activities, journal entries, reconciliations, variance explanations, and special projects/analyses. The role includes providing leadership and mentoring to staff accountants and supporting team development aligned with company goals.

Specific Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of General Accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and trial balance analysis.
• Maintain and update the fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company procedures, approving transactions within limits.
• Oversee key financial controls, especially in cash transactions and payables, ensuring internal controls are followed.
• Lead and direct accounting staff to meet department objectives.
• Review and improve process flows (AP, GL, closing) using tools like process mapping and work instructions, and develop plans to streamline processes without compromising controls.
• Coordinate with campuses for timely collection of accounts receivable.
• Ensure timely month-end closing.
• Perform analytical reviews and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts.
• Maintain records of auxiliary accounts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years of experience in finance, a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, excellent interpersonal, communication skills, and strong financial acumen are required.
