Job summary

Bear Event Design, a Denver-based creative event design and rental company, seeks an Accounting Operations Administrator to own day-to-day financial operations and build a smarter financial engine. You will manage bookkeeping, payroll, revenue/receivable, and cost tracking, while driving monthly closes and reporting.

You will implement job costing, develop dashboards, and partner with leadership to provide insights on profitability and performance across the Rocky Mountain region.

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years of accounting/finance experience with hands-on responsibility across bookkeeping, AP/AR, and reconciliations.
• Strong experience with QuickBooks Online and financial systems management.
• Experience managing payroll and supporting HR-related financial processes.
• Proven experience building or managing reporting, dashboards, or financial analysis.
• Experience with job costing, project-based accounting, or cost tracking systems.
• Comfortable working with multiple systems and tools (expense management, payroll platforms, CRM/project systems).
• Strong Excel skills for analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own all core accounting functions including bookkeeping, AP/AR, payroll, and monthly reconciliations.
• Manage and improve the monthly close process with strong supporting documentation.
• Maintain and audit QuickBooks, Ramp, and payroll platforms for clean records and compliance.
• Oversee accounts receivable, payment tracking, and client communications with sales.
• Manage accounts payable workflows and timely payments.
• Own payroll processing and HR-related financial operations.
• Lead implementation and management of job costing systems across departments.
• Develop monthly reporting, dashboards, and financial summaries for visibility into performance, costs, and profitability.
• Conduct quarterly business reviews with leadership and provide actionable insights.
• Continuously evaluate financial workflows and tools for automation and efficiency.
• Act as central hub between departments to align financial data with operations.
• Support financial hygiene through guidelines, audits, and documentation.
