Job summary

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; dealership accounting strongly preferred.
• Hands-on deposits and reconciliations experience.
• Experience leading or training others, formally or informally.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excel proficiency; DMS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise two accounting office employees: assign daily work, set priorities and check quality
• Train new team members and cross-train so key tasks are always covered
• Serve as the first point of contact for questions from the team and store managers
• Prepare, verify and record daily bank deposits
• Balance cash and checks to the daily cashier reports and resolve differences
• Follow cash-handling and internal control procedures
• Reconcile credit card transactions and merchant statements to the general ledger
• Research and resolve discrepancies, chargebacks and unmatched items
• Complete reconciliations accurately and on schedule for month-end close
• Help with schedules, postings and other accounting office duties as needed
• Work with the corporate accounting team on reporting and month-end requests
