Job summary

CLA is seeking a Manager/Director – Accounting Methods to join our Federal Tax Strategies team. This role focuses on advising clients on the timing and character of income, expense, capitalization, and cost recovery, including Form 3115 filings, within a collaborative, growth-oriented culture.

You will collaborate with a team of managers, directors, and principals, research issues, draft method changes, and support client engagements, requiring a CPA and 6+ years of experience in a large firm.

Responsibilities

• Consult on accounting methods-related issues including automatic and non-automatic method changes.
• Display verbal and written communication skills to evaluate and articulate complex information.
• Research accounting methods tax issues to maintain and expand knowledge base.
• Collaborate on projects with client interviews, data reviews, calculations, and tax form filings.
• Draft automatic and non-automatic method changes and responses to IRS inquiries.
• Collaborate with Managers, Directors, and Principals across the Firm.
• Coach or mentor staff to develop skills and careers.
• Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously in a reliable manner.
