CLA is seeking a Manager/Director – Accounting Methods to join our Federal Tax Strategies team in Charlotte, NC. You will advise on accounting methods, revenue and expense recognition, inventory, capitalization, and cost recovery, and support IRS filings.

The role requires a CPA, a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, and about six years in a large firm. You will lead projects, mentor staff, and collaborate with stakeholders across the Firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification required.
• 6 years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm.

Responsibilities

• Consult on accounting methods changes including overall methods, revenue/expense recognition, inventory, capitalization, and cost recovery.
• Display solid verbal and written communication skills to evaluate and articulate complex information.
• Conduct research related to accounting methods tax issues to expand knowledge base.
• Lead and collaborate on accounting methods projects, including client interviews, data review, calculations, analysis, and filings.
• Assist with researching and drafting method changes and IRS inquiries and rulings.
• Mentor staff and collaborate with managers, directors, and principals across the Firm.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with reliability and efficiency.
