Crescent Hotels & Resorts is seeking an experienced Complex Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations for Chicago Marriott Suites Deerfield and Hilton Orrington Evanston. You will lead AP, manage GL and journal entries, assist with month-end close, and ensure adherence to internal controls across two properties.

The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to coordinate with hotel leadership and the Finance team, and a track record of delivering accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Accounts Payable process for two properties, ensuring invoices are coded, approved, and processed on time.
• Review purchase orders, invoices, and vendor statements for accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and process daily income journal entries and maintain accurate records.
• Assist with month-end closing, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Monitor cash handling procedures, deposits, and reconciliations.
• Collaborate with Finance teams and hotel leadership to ensure timely accounting processes.
• Provide guidance and support to accounting staff across both properties.

Description

Crescent Hotels & Resorts is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Complex Accounting Manager to support the financial operations of the Chicago Marriott Suites Deerfield and Hilton Orrington Evanston.

This position will oversee daily accounting activities, lead the Accounts Payable (AP) process, prepare income journal entries, assist with month-end closing, and ensure compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls.

The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable managing accounting responsibilities across two hotel properties while working closely with hotel leadership and the Finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the Accounts Payable process for both properties, ensuring invoices are accurately coded, approved, and processed on time.
• Review purchase orders, invoices, and vendor statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with company procedures.
• Prepare and process daily income journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with month-end closing, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Monitor cash handling procedures, daily cash transactions, deposits, and reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies.
• Support financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
• Maintain compliance with Crescent Hotels & Resorts accounting policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with Finance teams and department leaders at both properties to ensure accurate and timely accounting processes.
• Provide guidance and support to accounting associates as needed.
• Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous accounting experience required; hotel or hospitality accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with Accounts Payable, general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month-end closing.
• Strong understanding of accounting procedures and internal financial controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with teams at two hotel locations.
• Previous supervisory or accounting leadership experience preferred.

Work Schedule & Location

This is a full-time OEM, shared position supporting two Crescent Hotels & Resorts properties:

• Chicago Marriott Suites Deerfield: Approximately 3–4 days per week.
• Hilton Orrington Evanston: Approximately 1–2 days per week.

The schedule may vary depending on business needs and month-end closing requirements.

This position is classified as an Overtime Eligible Manager (OEM). While the role includes management responsibilities, it is eligible for overtime compensation. The manager is required to track all hours worked and will receive overtime pay in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws.
