FIU Foundation is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to manage daily accounting and reporting activities, assist with procedures to ensure regulatory compliance, and prepare disclosures for the audited financial statements. The role involves coordinating with multiple departments on project setup, revenue suspense reconciliation, and donor-related entries.

The position reports to the Controller and is based on site at FIU Foundation, with responsibilities including reviewing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related business field, including at least 6 credits in Accounting, and six (6) years of directly-related experience; OR Master's degree in Accounting or related business field, or an MBA and four (4) years of directly-related experience.
• Non-profit and GASB accounting experience is desirable.
• Experience with financial statement preparation is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Manages daily accounting and reporting activities for FIU Foundation.
• Assists the Controller and Assistant Controller with developing and implementing accounting procedures to improve compliance with regulations.
• Establishes, interprets, and analyzes complex accounting functions.
• Creates required notes disclosures to the Audited Financial Statements.
• Reviews accounting and reporting environment to improve efficiencies.
• Prepares and reviews reconciliations of accounts and subledgers and journal entries.
• Oversees reconciliation of Revenue Suspense and donor-related entries.
• Coordinates with departments to establish new Foundation projects and prepare related documents.
