Job summary

Unusual Machines is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead daily accounting operations, close cycles, and team development within a fast-growing, manufacturing environment in the United States. You will drive reporting accuracy and process improvements across cost accounting, inventory, and ERP systems.

The role requires 6–10 years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
• 2+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with NetSuite and ERP systems is strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting external audits and working with auditors.
• Strong Excel, analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations and close processes (monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Oversee cash, AP, AR, prepaids, fixed assets, leases, payroll-related, intercompany accounts.
• Identify unusual trends and emerging accounting issues in financial results.
• Develop and coach the accounting team and establish clear responsibilities.
• Improve scale of accounting processes to support growth and acquisitions.
• Provide oversight of inventory and manufacturing cost accounting with Cost Accountant.
• Coordinate with operations and engineering to reflect activity in financials.
• Support SOX readiness, internal controls, and external audits.
• Lead NetSuite improvements and data integrity across workflows.
