Base pay range

$130,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

Located near McHenry, IL, this client is looking to bring on an Accounting Manager due to a long standing employee retiring, and as the organization/team is experiencing immense growth right now!

As the Accounting Manager, you will report directly into the President and have full ownership of the Accounting & Finance function, while managing a team of 3 individuals.

As the Accounting Manager, you will report directly into the President and have full ownership of the Accounting & Finance function, while managing a team of 3 individuals.

Description

• Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Oversees inventory processes including valuation, reconciliation, and physical inventory count
• Prepare internal financial statements and reports for senior management
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and applicable tax laws
• Lead, mentor, and develop the team of 4 individuals
• Coordinate external audits and work with auditors to ensure timely completion
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
• Support ERP system implementation, upgrades, and data integrity efforts
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on business initiatives and financial planning
• Handle complex journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
• Liaise with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies

Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 7+ years of experience in Accounting
• MBA and CPA a plus
• Managerial experience
• Month-end close experience
• Cost Accounting experience
• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced excel knowledge
• Advanced time management skills
