• Lead and implement scalable process improvement initiatives across the finance organization.

Senior Manager, Accounting & Controllership | Global Manufacturer

A global leader in highly engineered industrial and technology solutions is seeking a Senior Manager, Group Controllership to join its high-performing corporate finance team based in downtown Chicago.

In this role, you will support a group of business units, serving as a subject matter expert on accounting and controllership matters. You’ll play a key role in designing and executing monitoring procedures, driving process improvements, and strengthening accounting practices across the enterprise. This is an impactful, highly visible role with direct exposure to corporate and business unit leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical US GAAP guidance and support, including assisting with the maintenance and continuous improvement of global policies and procedures. Common areas of support include inventory valuation, revenue recognition, lease accounting, and local statutory to US GAAP reconciliations.
• Design and execute monitoring controls including balance sheet and account reconciliation reviews, fluctuation analyses, and peer reviews.
• Lead and implement scalable process improvement initiatives across the finance organization.
• Develop and deliver trainings to finance teams, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
• Perform financial statement analytics at the sub-consolidation level to assess risk and identify trends.
• Act as a mentor and advisor to business unit Controllers and finance teams.
• Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with policies and evolving standards.
• Provide interim support for open roles at the business unit level as needed.
• Travel to business units as necessary to execute key initiatives (limited and project-based).

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of progressive accounting or controllership experience (2+ years of operational accounting experience)
• Background in manufacturing and inventory accounting required
• Prior experience as a Business Unit Controller or Accounting Manager strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA highly preferred
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Experience with OneStream, JD Edwards, or CoStar a plus
