Job Title: Senior Cost Accountant

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our client's corporate finance team within a leading global manufacturing organization. This role will support key cost accounting functions across production and distribution operations, working closely with finance and operations leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to drive process improvements that enhance efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in month-end closing, including inventory evaluation and roll-forward analysis
• Serve as assistant/backup to the Operations Controller
• Maintain the inventory relief process for subcomponents used in high-level parts
• Assist with quarterly physical inventories and perform inventory cycle counts
• Investigate and resolve inventory variances
• Set up and update standard costs for manufactured goods
• Analyze cost accounting data and prepare related budget reports
• Establish costs for business processes such as administration, labor, and shipping
• Recommend process and policy changes to reduce costs and maximize profit
• Advise executives and management on appropriate costing strategies based on financial data
• Recommend strategies to the CFO and Operations Controller
• Maintain awareness of industry trends and best practices
• Participate in special projects and other administrative tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 5+ years of experience with at least 2+ years of specific cost accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Cost Accounting Standards
• Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems (experience with financial reporting tools preferred)
