Job summary

Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking an Accounting Manager for Live Operations. You will oversee accounting across pullets, breeders, hatcheries, feed mill and live haul for the complex.

Responsibilities include supervising a clerical team, preparing weekly and monthly financial reports, budgeting, variance analysis, and managing inventories and fixed assets in cost centers. SOX controls and clear communication to management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in poultry industry.
• Proficiency with Excel/Word and ERP systems (SAP or similar).
• Ability to solve analytical accounting problems and work under pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication; meet deadlines; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a clerical staff of 4–6 employees, including hiring and training.
• Prepare accurate weekly and monthly financial reports and KPIs.
• Work with live operations managers to prepare budgets; perform variance analysis.
• Manage grower pay accounting, outside bird purchases and special flocks.
• Ensure proper reporting of inventories and fixed assets for cost centers.
• Adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements for live production and reporting.
• Communicate results to management daily, weekly and monthly.
• Perform related tasks as needed.
