Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking an Accounting Manager for Live Operations. You will oversee accounting across pullets, breeders, hatcheries, feed mill and live haul for the complex.

Responsibilities include supervising a clerical team, preparing weekly and monthly financial reports, budgeting, variance analysis, and managing inventories and fixed assets in cost centers. SOX controls and clear communication to management are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in poultry industry.
• Proficiency with Excel/Word and ERP systems (SAP or similar).
• Ability to solve analytical accounting problems and work under pressure.
• Strong written and verbal communication; meet deadlines; maintain confidentiality.

Accounting Manager Live Operations

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for all accounting/financial activities relating to pullets, breeders, hatcheries, feed mill, broilers and live haul for the complex.

Will be responsible for:

1. Supervise a clerical staff of 4 – 6 people which includes hiring, training and developing employees.
2. Prepare accurate and timely weekly and monthly financial reports, key performance indicators and Agri Stats data for the complex.
3. Work with live operation’s department managers to prepare both capital and operating budgets. Perform variance analysis on budget to actual during the year.
4. Manage the process of accounting for grower pay, the purchase of outside birds and handling of special flocks.
5. Ensure proper reporting of inventories and fixed assets for all cost centers within live production.
6. Meet all the requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act as they relate to live production.
7. Communicating results and findings to management on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
8. Performing related tasks as requested.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Must have at least 5 years previous experience in accounting, preferably in Poultry industry

• Able to solve analytical accounting problems

• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, SAP or similar ERP system

• Ability to work well under pressure

• Able to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Confidentiality is a Must

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
