Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee all financial activities for pullets, breeders, hatcheries, feed mill, broilers and live haul. Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports and KPIs for the complex
• Coordinate budgeting with live operations managers; perform budget vs. actual variance analysis
• Manage grower pay, purchase of outside birds, and special flocks accounting
• Ensure accurate inventory and fixed asset reporting for all cost centers
• Comply with Sarbanes–Oxley reporting requirements for live production
• Communicate results to management daily/weekly/monthly

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for all accounting/financial activities relating to pullets, breeders, hatcheries, feed mill, broilers and live haul for the complex.

Will be responsible for:

• Supervise a clerical staff of 4 – 6 people which includes hiring, training and developing employees.
• Prepare accurate and timely weekly and monthly financial reports, key performance indicators and Agri Stats data for the complex.
• Work with live operation’s department managers to prepare both capital and operating budgets. Perform variance analysis on budget to actual during the year.
• Manage the process of accounting for grower pay, the purchase of outside birds and handling of special flocks.
• Ensure proper reporting of inventories and fixed assets for all cost centers within live production.
• Meet all the requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act as they relate to live production.
• Communicating results and findings to management on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Performing related tasks as requested.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Must have at least 5 years previous experience in accounting, preferably in Poultry industry
• Able to solve analytical accounting problems
• Working knowledge of Excel, Word, SAP or similar ERP system
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Able to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Confidentiality is a Must
