Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience in a similar role
• Bachelor's degree in accounting required; Master's degree or CPA preferred
• Law firm or professional services experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, support, and coaching.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and supporting documentation.
• Lead monthly and annual close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis, and financial reviews.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance and prepare reports, dashboards, and variance analyses to support decision-making.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance with laws and standards.
• Ensure proper segregation of duties and documentation throughout processes.
• Manage and reconcile operating, trust, payroll, and other firm accounts.
• Prepare and review fixed assets, depreciation, leases, accruals, and related schedules.
• Coordinate external audits, tax engagements, and government filings.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Collaborate with firm leadership to support financial initiatives and objectives.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
