Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, AZ is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the day-to-day accounting function during a growth phase. You will own the monthly close, prepare financial statements, supervise staff, and drive internal controls.

This onsite role collaborates with FP&A, facilities, events, and sales, overseeing AR/AP, audits, taxes, ERP systems, and cost savings initiatives; CPA preferred, GAAP/IFRS knowledge, and strong Excel required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years supervising staff.
• Ownership of full-cycle month-end close and financial statement prep.
• GAAP/IFRS knowledge; FRF for SMEs a plus.
• Experience designing internal controls, compliance and risk management.
• Proven ability to hire, coach, and develop accounting staff.
• Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling experience.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end, quarterly, and annual close and preparation of financial statements.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
• Design and monitor internal controls, policies, and procedures across the organization.
• Direct AR & AP operations with focus on automation and process improvements.
• Partner with FP&A and department leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Manage external audits, tax, and compliance engagements.
