Job summary

Central States Water Resources seeks a Senior Accountant to maintain books for multiple operating units and support the monthly close, income statements, and balance sheets. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile ledgers, and generate statements for subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.

Strong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams on audits and complex projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ accounting experience.
• BA/BS in finance or related field.
• GAAP knowledge and regulatory familiarity.
• Hands-on NetSuite experience.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
• Strong attention to detail and analytical ability.

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the accounting records and transactions for multiple operating units; will be a key contributor to the financial closing processes; and will be involved in the preparation of the company's income statement and balance sheet, account analysis/reconciliations of general ledger accounts, and monthly journal entries.

Job Duties

• Prepare monthly journal entries for financial statement close process.
• Prepare financial statements for a group of subsidiary companies.
• Prepare account reconciliations.
• Prepare GL bank reconciliations.
• Process customer and vendor payments via ACH through the bank online portal.
• Assist with audits.
• Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in general ledger accounts.
• Accurately record and track company transactions.
• Project Accounting for construction and capital projects
• Special projects as needed, involving coordination and communication between various internal and external systems.
• Follow CSWR policies and guidelines at all times.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Education/Experience

• 2+ Years' experience as an Accountant
• Bachelor's Degree in finance or related field
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Hands-on experience with accounting software like NetSuite
• Advanced MS Excel skills including V-lookups and pivot tables
• Experience with general ledger functions
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• Ability to work well independently and be a team player. Ability to manage time sensitive projects. Demonstrated knowledge of financial applications and processes.
