Job summary

Vaco is seeking an Accounting Manager in Boca Raton, FL to lead the monthly close, financial reporting, and internal controls. The role requires a CPA and 5+ years of accounting experience, with strong leadership and GAAP knowledge. You will oversee staff and coordinate with auditors.

From day one, you will drive process improvements, collaborate across finance and operations, and ensure accurate, timely financial statements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with financial reporting and month-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting systems.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and support process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the monthly close process.
• Prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Review general ledger activity and support accurate recordkeeping.
• Help evaluate and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Support technical accounting research as needed.
• Assist with audits and coordination with external auditors.
• Provide guidance, training, and oversight to accounting staff.
