Job summary

Vaco is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations across a growing, multi-location organization. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support growth initiatives, including acquisitions and system enhancements.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on leadership, deep technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to drive process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Active CPA license highly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with complex accounting environments, including inventory, cost accounting, or operational accounting.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with timely, accurate reporting.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for accuracy.
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies and procedures in line with U.S. GAAP.
• Identify opportunities to automate processes and strengthen internal controls.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff for growth.
• Support acquisition-related accounting activities and integration efforts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent accounting across locations.
• Perform accounting research and provide guidance on complex transactions.
• Assist with audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.
• Support tax-related accounting activities with internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in ERP, reporting, and financial systems initiatives.
