Job summary

J2T Recruiting is seeking an Accounting Manager in Bozeman, MT to lead a small finance team and own the month-end close. The role offers strong mentorship from leaders with Fortune 100 backgrounds and a culture of accountability with grace.

Expect to reshape processes, automate manual tasks, and drive efficiency across the close cycle. You will supervise two direct reports, guide AP/AR, and partner with department heads on budget reviews.

Qualifications

• Must have 5–7 years in accounting with month-end close ownership.
• Experience supervising at least one or two staff and providing feedback.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and nonprofit accounting knowledge is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills and automation mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end close for parent and subsidiaries; review and post journals.
• Oversee AP, AR, vendor approvals, invoicing and reimbursements.
• Lead budget-to-actual reviews with department heads.
• Identify bottlenecks and automate manual processes.
• Manage payroll accounting and related reconciliations.
• Prepare audit and 990 work papers; coordinate year-end tasks.
• Supervise two staff and coordinate workflow in Monday.com.
