Job summary

Kubicki Draper in Miami is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting, manage a 10+ person team, and ensure accurate financial records and timely closing.

This hands-on, in-office role reports to the Finance Director/Controller and emphasizes internal controls, trust account handling, payroll, AR/AP, and collaboration with vendors and staff to improve procedures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or accounting management for a mid to large sized law firm.
• Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general bookkeeping.
• Experience managing or reconciling trust accounts.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee day-to-day bookkeeping functions, including maintaining accurate financial records and account reconciliations.
• Manage trust accounts, including transactions, reconciliations, recordkeeping, and ensuring funds are properly accounted for.
• Supervise Accounts Receivable, includes posting payments
• Supervise Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, vendor records, and account reconciliation.
• Process payroll accurately and on schedule, including maintaining appropriate payroll records.
• Review accounting transactions for accuracy and proper documentation.
• Reconcile bank, trust, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Assist the Finance Director with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Prepare accounting reports and supporting schedules as needed.
• Maintain organized financial records and ensure accounting procedures and internal controls are followed.
• Coordinate with employees, vendors, customers/clients, and outside professionals regarding accounting matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, controls, and efficiency.
