Job summary

H2O America seeks an Accounting Manager, Gross Margin & Regulatory to lead day-to-day accounting across multiple jurisdictions, managing journal entries, reconciliations and close processes while ensuring compliance.

The role collaborates with auditors and external stakeholders, strengthens internal controls, supports forecasting and budgeting, and guides regulatory reporting. Occasional domestic travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of accounting experience with progressively increased responsibilities.
• CPA license is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical or cross-functional teams.
• Expertise in GAAP and bookkeeping best practices.
• Strong ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations experience.
• Experience leading audits and preparing documentation.
• Forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling expertise.
• Regulatory reporting knowledge (e.g. SEC, state utilities).
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Leads day-to-day accounting operations across jurisdictions.
• Oversees complex reconciliations and journal entries; sets escalation standards.
• Manages month-/quarter-/year-end close processes and ledgers.
• Coordinates with external stakeholders and auditors during audits.
• Assists in regulatory filings and financial forecasting.
• Develops internal controls and process improvements to reduce gaps.
