Job summary

Blackbird Health in Philadelphia is seeking an ambitious Accounting Manager to support our growing Finance team. You will report to the Director of Accounting and own day-to-day general ledger operations, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and multi-entity consolidation across our multi-state footprint.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in general ledger accounting, public accounting, or financial operations in a multi-state startup.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA a strong plus).
• Solid knowledge of US GAAP, multi-entity consolidations, complex journal entries, and variance analysis.
• Hands-on experience with cloud accounting systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks) and spend platforms (Ramp, Bill.com, Rippling).
• Direct exposure to ERP implementation projects and external financial audits.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end month-end close execution. Prepare and review complex journal entries, accruals, intercompany eliminations, and reconciliations.
• Perform monthly variance (flux) analysis and translate data into leadership-ready insights with FP&A.
• Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable, vendor onboarding, invoice processing, and payments.
• Support ERP system implementation and audit readiness with internal controls.
• Collaborate with Finance and People teams on cross-functional initiatives as Blackbird scales.
