Job summary

J2T Recruiting is seeking an Accounting Manager in a high-visibility role, partnering with finance leadership and supporting the close, GAAP, and SEC reporting. This hands-on position offers cross-training with senior staff, growth potential, and exposure to external audits.

CPA required and public-company experience highly valued. The role focuses on GL operations, journal entries, and process improvements, with a compensation package up to $120K plus a discretionary bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; active CPA certification is required.
• 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience with GAAP and GL close.
• Public accounting or public-company experience is highly preferred.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience is a plus.
• Sage ERP experience and advanced Excel skills are a major plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as right-hand and backup to Assistant Controller, supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
• Perform hands-on general ledger work, reviewing journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Gain direct exposure to SEC reporting, supporting the team with Qs, Ks, and technical research as needed.
• Support external audit requests, maintain internal controls, and partner with leadership on ad hoc finance projects and system enhancements.
