Job summary

Amazon Fuse Accounting seeks a senior accounting leader to own monthly close, manage revenue recognition under ASC 606, and develop scalable financial controls across a global operation. You will partner with business, tech, finance, and accounting teams to drive strategic initiatives and automation projects that raise controllership standards and scale the business.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the monthly/quarterly close process, including preparing journal entries, analyzing variances, and delivering meaningful financial reporting to management.
• Review new contracts and interpret contractual terms to determine appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606
• Prepare and review technical accounting memos under US GAAP, ensuring regulatory compliance
• Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls and design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Business, Finance, and Tax to ensure alignment, compliance, and scalability
• Drive projects, provide accounting guidance, and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to launch new projects and resolve issues
• Evaluate existing processes and recommend, develop, and drive improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
• Drive AI and automation solutions for operational improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across accounting processes
