Job summary

Amazon is seeking a senior financial accounting professional to lead the monthly and quarterly close, prepare journal entries, analyze variances, and deliver meaningful reporting to management across AWS, Advertising, Publishing, and other businesses.

You will partner with Finance, Production, Tax, Sales and Technology to drive end-to-end process ownership, improve internal controls under SOX 404, and push automation and AI-driven enhancements to scale operations globally.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• CPA preferred; COSO knowledge; GAAP research proficiency; experience with Big Four/B Fortune 500 clients

Responsibilities

• Own monthly/quarterly close process, prepare journal entries, analyze variances, provide reporting to management
• Manage period-end close and reconciliations
• Prepare and review technical accounting memos under US GAAP; ensure regulatory compliance
• Lead SOX 404 controls and internal control design discussions
• Partner with cross-functional teams (Finance, Production, Tax, Sales, Technology) to ensure alignment and effective information flow
• Drive process improvements and automation across accounting processes
