Job summary

Neumont University seeks an Accounting Manager to run the monthly close, manage journal entries, and deliver timely financial reporting. You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, and compliance, collaborating with the CFO to strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements.

Located in Salt Lake City, this on-site role requires expertise in ASC 842, strong Excel skills, and experience with university accounting systems to support enrollment and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP including revenue recognition and ASC 842.
• Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and reporting packages.
• Demonstrated ability to reconcile complex accounts and resolve variances.
• Experience with internal controls and audit support.
• Proficient with data transfers between systems and automation.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and year-end close processes and reconciliations.
• Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries under ASC 842.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and cash activity oversight.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and budget-to-actual analyses.
• Oversee accounts payable, student billing, and vendor payments.
• Support annual audits and regulator filings.
