Job Summary

Direct/Manage/Supervise one or more accounting teams. Ensureuniversity adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles(GAAP) or other accounting standards. Ensure timely preparation andreview of all required regulatory filings. Advise on annualbudgeting and prepare accounting reports for executive leadership.Review work submitted by accountants and manage accounting closeprocesses. Perform analysis on financials and accounting metricsfor presentation to leadership. First-level manager. Manage theactivities of supervisors and/or individual contributors.Responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and payreviews. Broad knowledge of the field with demonstrated leadershipskills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all debt, asset, and investment accountingfunctions.
• Work closely with Surplus and Grants and Contracts Accountingregarding asset disposals.
• Responsible for debt & asset management systems includingreview of data entry, access, testing, and maintenance.
• Assist in year-end and month close as well as annual financialaudit.
• Assist in preparation of any necessary reporting related to debtor assets.
• Regular review all of responsible processes forimprovement.
• Set and maintain KPI's for team.
• Review and approve monthly depreciation entries for two businessunits.
• Review and approve monthly investment entries

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher educationcan be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience(Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related workexperience).

Manager, Accounting Management: Requires abachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (orequivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.

Preferences

• Experience in property accounting, debt, and endowment andinvestment accounting
• Licensure as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Candidates whoare CPA-eligible (per the State of Utah Division of OccupationalLicensing rules) may be considered
• Process improvement and implementation
• Understanding of Financial Accounting Standards Board or GASBrules and guidelines
