The University of Utah is seeking an Accounting Manager, Debt & Assets to lead accounting teams and ensure GAAP compliance. This role oversees regulatory filings, budgeting input, and preparation of accounting reports for executive leadership.

Responsibilities include managing debt and asset accounting, year-end close, audits, and implementing process improvements. Hybrid work arrangement with standard 40-hour weeks in Salt Lake City, UT.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalency) + 6 years or Master’s degree (or equivalency) + 4 years of related work experience.
• Direct/Manage/Supervise accounting teams.
• Ensure GAAP adherence and regulatory filings.
• Lead year-end close and provide financial reports to leadership.

Responsabilidades

• Responsible for all debt, asset, and investment accounting functions.
• Work with Surplus and Grants and Contracts Accounting on asset disposals.
• Manage debt & asset management systems including data entry reviews and access.
• Assist in year-end and month close and in annual financial audits.
• Prepare required reporting related to debt or assets.
• Review processes for continuous improvement and efficiency.
• Set and monitor KPI’s for the team.
• Review and approve depreciation entries for two units.
• Review and approve monthly investment entries.
