Goodwin Recruiting seeks a hands‑on Accounting Manager in New York to lead the accounting function, owning cash management, month‑end close, and financial reporting. You will supervise the Accounting Assistant, interact with President/ownership on financial planning, and ensure regulatory compliance across tax and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required or preferred.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with supervision experience preferred.
• Hands‑on experience with full‑cycle month‑end close and GAAP.
• Experience reconciling multiple bank accounts and payroll accounting.
• Intermediate Excel skills and ability to learn new software and online banking platforms.
• Strong internal controls mindset, including wire fraud prevention and dual‑control procedures.

Responsabilités

• Oversee cash management and escrow controls across multiple accounts.
• Lead monthly close, journal entries, accruals, and reclasses.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis reports.
• Manage payroll and contractor payments, including 1099 reconciliation.
• Approve vendor payments, maintain vendor master, and monitor banking relationships.
• Prepare underwriter remittance and regulatory compliance documentation.
• Support fiscal year financials and assist CPA with corporate tax filings.
• Supervise Accounting Assistant and drive process improvements with Title operations.
