Evlo AI is seeking an experienced accounting leader to own the general ledger integrity and monthly close. You will guide the accounting team through close, reconciliations, and reporting under US GAAP with SOX control involvement, as part of a fast-scaling technology company.

You will shape close automation, support audit readiness, and translate complex accounting positions (ASC 606, ASC 718) into clear reporting for leadership and auditors.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of accounting experience with 2+ years supervising staff.
• CPA and Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP and hands-on SOX 404 control environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and quarter-end close, ensuring timely, accurate close within 5 business days.
• Lead and develop a staff of accountants, reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses.
• Drive technical memos on ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 718, documenting positions for review and audit.
• Own SOX compliance activities: maintain control matrices, coordinate key testing, remediate deficiencies.
• Partner with FP&A, RevOps, and Legal on revenue recognition, contracts, and accruals.
• Support quarterly and annual external audits, managing PBC schedules and auditor requests to deadline.
• Identify and implement close automation and process improvements in NetSuite and related systems.

This is a hands-on leadership role in a company preparing for sustained scale: you will shape close automation, support audit readiness, and translate complex accounting positions (revenue recognition under ASC 606, stock-based compensation under ASC 718) into clear reporting for finance leadership and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and quarter-end close, ensuring timely, accurate close within 5 business days
• Lead and develop a team of staff accountants, reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and account analyses
• Drive technical accounting memos on ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 718 topics, documenting positions for review and audit
• Own SOX compliance activities: maintain control matrices, coordinate key control testing, and remediate deficiencies
• Partner with FP&A, RevOps, and Legal on revenue recognition, contract review, and accrual accuracy
• Support quarterly and annual external audits, managing PBC schedules and auditor requests to deadline

What We Are Looking For

• 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years supervising direct reports
• CPA (active or inactive) and Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Deep working knowledge of US GAAP and hands-on experience with SOX 404 control environments
• NetSuite or similar mid-market ERP experience, including close optimization and reporting buildout
• Track record of owning close processes end-to-end in fast-moving technology or SaaS environments
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills; comfortable presenting analysis to senior leadership
• Bonus: Big 4 or national firm audit background; exposure to SEC reporting (10-K/10-Q); experience with FloQast, BlackLine, or other close-management tools; familiarity with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany accounting
