Position Title: Accounting Manager

Department: Accounting

Location: Remote (Candidates must be available to work standard business hours in the Eastern Time Zone.)

Reports To: VP - Finance

Installation Made Easy ("IME") provides software and process management that enable retailers and contractors to offer installed home improvements to homeowners in a convenient, consistent, and affordable manner. IME senior management has over 100 years of retail management and home improvement industry experience.

The Accounting Manager will oversee the financial reporting process monthly, including coordinating month-end close deadlines, reconciliation review, exception corrections, accruals, financial statement creation, and publication. The role also involves assisting with quarterly financial covenant and compliance reporting, as well as interim and year-end financial statement audits.

The ideal candidate will be deadline-driven, able to work independently, and take ownership of responsibilities. They should proactively understand processes from start to finish.

The Accounting Manager will collaborate with departments such as Central Processing, Customer Solutions, Business Development, Field Operations, Software Development, and Executive Management.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the accounting team.
  • Ensure documentation and maintenance of Process Walkthroughs and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Review account reconciliations monthly, provide feedback, and ensure resolution.
  • Oversee the monthly accounting close, meet deadlines, and seek efficiency improvements.
  • Create monthly financial reports including MD&A to explain variances.
  • Analyze KPIs and advise departments to optimize revenue and control expenses.
  • Prepare quarterly Board of Directors (BOD) reports.
  • Coordinate annual insurance renewals and provide proposals timely.
  • Act as the main contact for audits, ensuring minimal adjustments.
  • Manage budget uploads to accounting and reporting software, ensuring accuracy.
  • Lead or assist in special projects like system implementations and process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in accounting or finance management.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Professional demeanor, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and adaptable to various software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective interaction across all organizational levels.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Positive attitude and flexibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA certification.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged sitting and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
