Job summary

Fastly, Inc. in San Francisco seeks an Accounting Manager to own the Cost of Revenue portfolio, including accruals, fixed assets, and internal-use software.

You will lead the COR Corporate Accounting team and work cross-functionally with FP&A, Supply Chain, Infrastructure, Product, and Engineering. You will oversee monthly close, review journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet analyses in accordance with US GAAP and SOX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA license required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including manager level at a public company.
• Experience with SOX, US GAAP, and external financial reporting.
• Experience with NetSuite, FloQast, Coupa, AuditBoard and G-Suite.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly close for COR portfolio and ensure accurate journal entries.
• Review reconciliations and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Identify SOX impacts and coordinate with Internal Audit.
• Assist SEC reporting footnotes and policy reviews.
• Drive process improvements to month-end close.
• Manage COR accounting task assignments and chart of accounts.

Job description

• We are looking for a proactive, highly motivated, and technically savvy Accounting Manager to join our Finance organization!
• The Manager, Accounting will own critical elements of our Cost of Revenue (COR) portfolio, including but not limited to Accruals, Fixed Assets (ASC 360) and Internal-Use Software (ASC 350-40)
• You will regularly work cross-functionally with other Fastly finance and business teams, such as FP&A, Supply Chain, Infrastructure, Product, and Engineering
• Lead and improve the processes for the Cost of Revenue Corporate Accounting team
• Oversee monthly closing activities for assigned areas by reviewing, verifying, and approving accurate journal entries for assigned areas. Review reconciliations ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP accounting standards, SOX guidelines, and internal accounting policies
• Review and verify accuracy of account balances and classifications. Analyze changes in balance sheet and income statement accounts and make recommendations to correct errors. Review flux explanations for accuracy and ensure proper presentation to leadership
• Identify potential SOX impacts from proposed process and systems changes in assigned areas, partnering with Internal Audit to update documentation including process flowcharts and associated risk & control matrix
• Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting by working cross functionally with other Fastly teamsMaintain day-to-day management of the COR Accounting task assignments, chart of accounts, financial report maintenance, and issue escalation/resolutionAssist SEC Reporting team with 10-Q/K footnote preparation and review, annual accounting policy review, and convention analysis for assigned areasIdentify, propose and drive process and efficiency improvements to month-end close process and other accounting processes
• Other ad hoc projects as needed
