Job summary

Fastly is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the Cost of Revenue portfolio within the Finance organization. You will own accruals, fixed assets (ASC 360) and internal-use software (ASC 350-40), coordinating with FP&A, Supply Chain, Infrastructure, Product and Engineering.

The role requires 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a manager-level role at a publicly traded company, and a Bachelor's degree in accounting.

Qualifications

• Experience with SOX compliance and US GAAP.
• Assist SEC Reporting team with 10-Q/K footnote preparation and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and improve the processes for the Cost of Revenue Corporate Accounting team.
• Oversee monthly closing activities and journal entries for assigned areas in compliance with US GAAP and SOX.
• Review balance sheet and income statement accounts, and provide corrective recommendations.
• Identify potential SOX impacts and work with Internal Audit on documentation and controls.
• Drive process improvements to month-end close and other accounting processes.

Manager, Accounting

We are looking for a proactive, highly motivated, and technically savvy Accounting Manager to join our Finance organization!

The Manager, Accounting will own critical elements of our Cost of Revenue (COR) portfolio, including but not limited to Accruals, Fixed Assets (ASC 360) and Internal-Use Software (ASC 350-40). You will regularly work cross-functionally with other Fastly finance and business teams, such as FP&A, Supply Chain, Infrastructure, Product, and Engineering.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and improve the processes for the Cost of Revenue Corporate Accounting team
• Oversee monthly closing activities for assigned areas by reviewing, verifying, and approving accurate journal entries for assigned areas. Review reconciliations ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP accounting standards, SOX guidelines, and internal accounting policies
• Review and verify accuracy of account balances and classifications. Analyze changes in balance sheet and income statement accounts and make recommendations to correct errors. Review flux explanations for accuracy and ensure proper presentation to leadership
• Identify potential SOX impacts from proposed process and systems changes in assigned areas, partnering with Internal Audit to update documentation including process flowcharts and associated risk & control matrix
• Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting by working cross functionally with other Fastly teamsMaintain day-to-day management of the COR Accounting task assignments, chart of accounts, financial report maintenance, and issue escalation/resolutionAssist SEC Reporting team with 10-Q/K footnote preparation and review, annual accounting policy review, and convention analysis for assigned areasIdentify, propose and drive process and efficiency improvements to month-end close process and other accounting processes
• Other ad hoc projects as needed

Bachelor’s degree in accounting7+ years progressive accounting experience, including experience in a manager-level role at a publicly traded company

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.

There is a strong preference for Hybrid near a local office. However, we may be willing to consider remote candidates within the US.

The estimated salary range for this position is $133,200.00 to $159,840.00.

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
