Role Overview

The Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, will report directly to the Director of Finance and play a key role in technical accounting and financial reporting. This individual will oversee a small team, drive reporting accuracy, and provide leadership in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes in compliance with GAAP.
• Provide technical accounting expertise, ensuring accurate treatment of complex transactions.
• Oversee and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
• Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights and support business strategy.
• Manage audits, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
• Work within SAP ECC8 and related accounting systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).
• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including technical accounting.
• Experience managing or supervising accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience in mining, energy, or manufacturing industries preferred.
• Meticulous, dependable, and professional with strong leadership skills.
