$110,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Accounting Manager

$110,000–$140,000/year (based on experience)

The Accounting Manager will support the Director of Finance by overseeing core accounting functions and taking on key operational responsibilities, allowing the Director to focus on capital projects. This role will supervise AP/AR teams, collaborate with cross-functional departments, and serve as a backup for payroll and cost accounting functions as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily general accounting functions and lead the month-end close process
  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries and financial statements
  • Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts
  • Oversee bi-weekly exempt and non-exempt payroll and related journal entries
  • Manage sales, use, CAT tax returns, and 1099 filings
  • Support annual audit activities and assist with budget preparation
  • Handle various banking functions and monthly financial presentations
  • Participate in product costing and customer pricing
  • Analyze raw material usage and ensure accurate general ledger coding
  • Develop and implement cost accounting procedures and internal controls
  • Collaborate with departments including operations, supply chain, purchasing, and executive leadership
  • Provide backup support for payroll and cost accounting team members
  • Supervise 3 direct reports within AP/AR and oversee the department’s day-to-day operations
  • Assist with special projects as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Knowledge of cost accounting and AP/AR functions
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with MS Dynamics is a plus
