Summary

Summary A Japanese manufacturing company located is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee all accounting and financial operations of the US entity. This position will work closely with executive management and the headquarters in Japan to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective cost management. The ideal candidate will be hands‑on while also providing leadership to a small accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes in accordance with US GAAP
• Prepare financial statements and management reports for U.S. leadership and Japan headquarters
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Manage manufacturing cost accounting (standard costing, variance analysis, inventory control)
• Supervise AP, AR, and General Ledger functions
• Coordinate with external CPA firms for audits and tax filings
• Develop and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
• Manage cash flow and financial planning activities
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
• Oversee ERP system operations and recommend process improvements
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision‑making

Working Hours, Working Style

8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Working Location

$80,000 – $100,000 annually + Annualy Bonus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
• Manufacturing and cost accounting experience is plus
• Experience leading month‑end and year‑end close
• Prior supervisory or management experience
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• ERP system experience
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Bilingual Japanese/English preferred but not required
• CPA certification is a big plus but not required
