Sr. Accountant
Summary
A leading Japanese company is seeking a Senior Accountant who possesses the ability to independently lead and perform complex accounting functions. Depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications, the role will be assigned either to the Holding Company (overseeing regional consolidation and strategy) or to an Operating Company (focusing on entity-specific financial operations). In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records and supporting the North American accounting framework. Fluency in both English and Japanese is strictly required.
Essential Duties (Unofficial)
- Financial Closing: Lead and perform month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- General Ledger & AP/AR: Manage the general ledger and handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions with high accuracy.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements and support the preparation of consolidated reports for North American operations.
- Compliance: Ensure all accounting activities comply with US GAAP, internal policies, and relevant local/international standards.
- Data Coordination: Collaborate with various departments to collect, verify, and streamline financial data for reporting purposes.
- Budgeting & Planning: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and provide data-driven support for financial forecasting.
- Audit Support: Prepare necessary documentation and provide essential support during external and internal audits.
- Strategic Support: Support special projects or process improvements (such as workflow optimization) as assigned by the Manager or Controller.
Working Hours & Working Style
Monday - Friday; 9:00 - 18:00

Salary/Benefit
$50K - 75K DOE

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, with advanced expertise in Excel.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Language: Fluent in both English and Japanese (spoken and written).
