Job summary

AANSEACORE is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close in a Finance Shared Services environment in Philadelphia. The role combines hands-on technical accounting with team leadership to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant reporting under IFRS and internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8–10 years of progressive accounting or audit experience.
  • 5–7 years of recent hands-on GL and RTR experience.
  • Strong experience owning month-end close and financial reporting activities.
  • 3+ years of people management experience, including coaching, development, and performance management.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to apply sound accounting judgment.
  • Experience reviewing accounting deliverables and providing technical guidance to accounting teams.
  • Experience in a shared services, multinational, or global corporate environment.
  • Experience working within a controlled close and audit environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and data interpretation capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, variance analysis, and internal controls.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to balance hands-on accounting responsibilities with team leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within accelerated close timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute assigned month-end close and financial reporting activities in accordance with the Corporate Reporting calendar.
  • Own assigned accounting areas and ensure transactions are recorded, analyzed, reconciled, and reported accurately and timely.
  • Review and approve balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure reconciling items are investigated and resolved promptly.
  • Identify, assess, and resolve accounting issues, risks, variances, and unusual transactions using appropriate technical accounting judgment.
  • Prepare and review financial analyses, supporting schedules, management reporting, and ad hoc reporting with audit-ready documentation.
  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting deliverables.
  • Perform and review variance analysis to identify trends, anomalies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, company accounting policies, internal controls, and established close procedures.
  • Maintain and enhance accounting process documentation, desktop procedures, and control documentation.
  • Partner with FP&A, Corporate Accounting, Tax, Internal Audit, and business stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting matters.
  • Support internal and external audits by coordinating audit requests, preparing supporting documentation, and resolving audit inquiries.
  • Manage team deliverables, priorities, deadlines, and ad hoc requests while maintaining high standards of quality and accountability.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and coaching to accounting staff and support their professional development.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Lead and support process improvement, automation, standardization, and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiency, scalability, reporting quality, and control effectiveness.
  • Ensure timely escalation and resolution of critical accounting issues that may impact financial reporting.
  • Maintain strong ownership and follow-through across assigned accounting processes and deliverables.
  • Support a high-quality, controlled, and efficient 3-day month-end close process.

  • Experience with BlackLine or comparable financial close and reconciliation platforms.
  • Experience with finance process improvement, automation, or transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced or accelerated close environment.
  • Outsourcing experience from both customer and service provider perspectives.
  • Experience supporting publishing, information services, software, or subscription‑based business models.
