Financial Technology Firm (FinTech) in New York City is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations and lead a talented team. The ideal candidate has a mix of public and private accounting, ideally within financial services or technology, with CPA highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum five years of relevant accounting experience, ideally mix of public and private.
• Financial Services or Technology industry experience.
• Experience in supervisory or management role.

Responsibilities

• Manages daily accounting activities, including month end close processes, payables, receivables, and the general ledger.
• Leads monthly and yearly close processes to deliver timely financial reports.
• Prepares and reviews key financial statements.
• Supervises and mentors a team of accounting professionals.
• Collaborates with colleagues, including global partners, to support company objectives.
• Assists with budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting.
• Oversees external audit processes.
• Identifies and implements process improvements for greater efficiency.
• Keeps current with changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Supports integration efforts for mergers, acquisitions, or new business activities.
