Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, GL accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience with multi-entity, intercompany, and consolidated accounting.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, or developing accounting professionals.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP or accounting systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with both accounting and non-accounting professionals.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with timely financial reporting.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities including GL, AP, AR, treasury, and cash management.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analyses.
• Oversee accounting for multiple entities, including intercompany transactions and consolidated reporting.
• Maintain strong accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and automate accounting processes.
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting team members.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and other third-party service providers.
• Partner cross-functionally with development, asset management, investment, and operations teams.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow analysis, and other financial planning initiatives.
• Support special projects and provide accounting and financial analysis to senior management as needed.
• Help enhance accounting systems, reporting capabilities, and processes as the organization grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting team members while promoting accuracy, accountability, and professional growth
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and other third-party service providers
• Partner cross-functionally with development, asset management, investment, and operations teams
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow analysis, and other financial planning initiatives
• Support special projects and provide accounting and financial analysis to senior management as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Experience with multi-entity, intercompany, and consolidated accounting
• Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or developing accounting professionals
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP or accounting systems
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with both accounting and non-accounting professionals

Highly Preferred

• CPA or CPA candidate
• Background in public accounting or audit
• Experience with Yardi, NetSuite, Ramp, or similar accounting and financial systems
• Experience improving month-end close procedures, implementing new processes, or automating reconciliations and reporting
