Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• CPA is preferred.
• 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience within public or corporate accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, financial reporting, internal controls.
• Experience in manufacturing or distribution accounting.
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close activities, prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and management reporting.
• Research and apply accounting guidance, support complex accounting transactions, ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, maintain internal controls, support regulatory reporting.
• Supervise accounting staff, provide guidance, and oversee day-to-day accounting operations.
• Evaluate and enhance accounting procedures, reporting workflows, and financial controls to improve efficiency.

Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounting Manager in Cumberland County, NJ for our client, supporting accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, and financial compliance within a growing organization. This leadership role will oversee the accounting function, manage financial reporting and internal controls, support audits, and partner with finance and business leaders to strengthen accounting processes, improve operational efficiency, and ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting leadership, technical accounting expertise, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities as the Accounting Manager:

• Financial Reporting: Lead month-end close activities, prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and management reporting.
• Technical Accounting: Research and apply accounting guidance, support complex accounting transactions, and ensure compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards.
• Audit & Compliance: Coordinate internal and external audits, maintain internal controls, and support regulatory and financial reporting requirements.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and develop accounting staff while providing guidance, performance support, and oversight of day-to-day accounting operations.
• Process Improvement: Evaluate and enhance accounting procedures, reporting workflows, and financial controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications for the Accounting Manager:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Certification: CPA is preferred.
• Experience: 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience within public accounting, corporate accounting, or a combination of both is required.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, financial reporting, internal controls, and manufacturing or distribution accounting is required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems is required. Experience with SAP is preferred.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, lead accounting teams, collaborate across departments, and meet tight deadlines are required.
