Job summary

Kingston Resorts in Myrtle Beach, SC, is seeking an Accounting Manager for Embassy Suites Myrtle Beach. This full-time, year-round position sits at the Kingston Resorts complex and offers solid growth opportunities within a premium oceanfront setting.

You will oversee reconciliations, month-end close, payroll, and GL analysis, ensuring strong internal controls and accurate financial reporting. Experience in hospitality accounting is essential, with emphasis on accuracy and leadership.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting or payroll within the hospitality industry.
• Minimum of two plus years in a management position.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent work experience.
• Advance proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Up to date with USALI knowledge.
• Experience with ProfitSword, Ottimate, and Birchstreet preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing bank and other reconciliation.
• General cashiering and tracking house banks.
• Reconcile payroll and resolve any errors.
• Assist with month-end closing process including uploading journals and running reports.
• Reconcile and prepare balance sheets for the complex.
• Review General Ledger variances and identify trends.
• Assist with year-end audit process and reporting.
• Ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment.
• Assist employees and 3rd parties with accounting inquiries.
• Lead and influence others; promote sound financial decisions; maintain integrity.
• Fill in and support coworkers to ensure efficient operation.
• Collect and invoice owners for monthly charges.

Description

The Kingston Resorts is a 145-acre oceanfront resort on the north-end of Myrtle Beach. Less than 2 miles from Tanger Outlets and a short 20 minute trip to Broadway at the Beach. This resort is home to the Hilton Myrtle Beach Resort, Embassy Suites Myrtle Beach, Kingston Plantation Condos, and Royale Palms Condos. The Accounting Manager position is responsible but not limited to:

• Assist with preparing bank and other reconciliation.
• General cashiering and tracking house banks.
• Reconcile payroll and resolve any errors.
• Assist with month-end closing process including uploading any journals and running of reports.
• Reconcile and prepare balance sheets for the complex.
• Reviewing, investigating, and analyzing General Ledger variances. Call attention to trends and collect information.
• Assisting with year-end audit process and reporting.
• Ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard asset and improve operations and profitability.
• Assist employee and 3 rd party with accounting related inquiries.
• Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
• Fill in and support coworkers and team as needed to ensure efficient operation.
• Perform duties, special assignments and projects as requested by management.
• Collect and invoice owners for monthly charges.

Job requirements:

• Must have 3+ years of progressive experience in accounting or payroll within the hospitality or similar industry.
• Minimum of two plus years in a management position.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent work experience required.
• Advance proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
• Up to date with USALI knowledge.
• Experience with ProfitSword, Ottimate, and Birchstreet preferred but not required.

The role requires the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities. The individual must have a high energy level and the ability to be creative and think independently. Excellent organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills are a must.

This is a full-time, year-round position working at the Embassy Suites located within the Kingston Resorts.
