Job summary

Replex Plastics, a trusted US manufacturer of optical plastic components, seeks a Controller to lead the accounting and financial function and join the Executive Team. You will manage month-end close, GAAP compliance, and cost accounting for manufacturing, while developing two direct reports and partnering with operations.

You will drive budgeting, forecasting, capital analyses, and KPIs, delivering timely insights to the executive team and shaping financial strategy at Replex.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Manufacturing industry experience.
• Strong cost accounting and standard costing experience.
• GAAP knowledge and internal controls.
• Leadership or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and year-end close and prepare financial statements.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Manage cash-flow planning, credit, and banking relationships with strong controls.
• Coordinate annual audits and year-end reporting with external auditors.

For more than 35 years, Replex Plastics has been a trusted manufacturer of high-quality optical plastic components serving customers across the United States and around the world.

We’re looking for an experienced Controller to lead our accounting and financial functions while serving as a member of the Replex Executive Team. This is a hands-on role combining manufacturing accounting, financial analysis, business partnership, and leadership of two direct reports.

Compensation & Rewards

Base Salary: Starting at $120,000 Annually

What You'll Do

Lead the Financial Function

• Lead monthly and year-end close and prepare accurate financial statements
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial reporting requirements
• Manage cash-flow planning, customer credit, and banking relationships while maintaining strong financial controls and segregation of duties
• Coordinate annual audits and year-end reporting, including preparing required schedules and documentation and serving as the primary contact for external auditors and the CPA firm
• Manage relationships with banking partners

Own Manufacturing Cost Accounting

• Maintain standard costing and inventory valuations
• Analyze labor, overhead, purchase price, scrap, and other manufacturing variances
• Oversee inventory controls and adjustments
• Partner with Operations to understand costs and identify opportunities for improvement

Plan & Support the Business

• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting
• Analyze financial performance and provide insight to support business decisions
• Provide financial analysis for capital expenditures
• Report on business KPIs weekly for the Executive Team
• Participate as a member of the Replex Executive Team

Develop People

• Directly lead the Office Coordinator and Operations Specialist
• Provide direction, accountability, coaching, and development
• Lead two direct reports whose responsibilities support accounting, purchasing, customer service, order management, shipping/logistics, and administrative functions

What We're Looking For

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong manufacturing cost accounting experience
• Experience with standard costing, inventory accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience
• Strong spreadsheet and accounting system skills
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred

• Previous Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership experience
